Jump prisms are a great tool used to train prismatic vergences at home, or in clinic test the patients ability to switch from one eye position to the other rapidly and then recover back to orthophoria/tropia.
This prism goes from 12 dioptre base out to 3 dioptre base in, all incorporated into a single prism. Pre-presbyopic patients should ordinarily be able to do this on a near fixation target with ease and those who cannot will likely present to clinic with asthenopic symptoms.
